Gary Blackwood (Chiropractor and Founder)
CBP Certified Practitioner.
My name is Blackwood – so why not call my practice White Tree…?
But there are other reasons: a tree has a trunk – its core from which all other branches grow.
Just like your spine is the key bony structure providing the stability from which all other bony structures can move.
The nerve ‘trunks’ which transport nerve impulse to the brain are known as ‘white matter’.
The brain has more ‘grey matter’ – but Grey Tree Chiro didn’t work so well.
And well, we work through the spine to affect the brain… So White Tree it is…
Doctor of Chiropractic Gary Blackwood gained his chiropractic degree from the Anglo-European College of Chiropractic (Bournemouth) whilst it was affiliated with the University of Portsmouth.
His motivation to become a chiropractor was a result of suffering himself from recurring headaches and neck pain following a stressful number of years working in the finance sector in London.
He decided to visit a chiropractor and two things happened: his pain disappeared, and he was fascinated by chiropractic.
“For the first time, someone explained to me how my body worked. Even though I’d studied physics, maths and chemistry up to that point, the theory behind chiropractic made total sense to me. Four months after my treatment began I’d made my application to Chiropractic College”
Now a Doctor of Chiropractic, Gary purchased the Family Wellness and Chiropractic Centre on Chester St, Edinburgh in September 2013, having worked for Wight Chiropractic Clinics in Haddington for many years.
“As a chiropractor every day is as rewarding as it is challenging. I am very grateful to be able to help people from all walks of life achieve their health, sporting and life goals.”
I am a Doctor of Chiropractic and, like all Chiropractors, I am regulated by the General Chiropractic Council. I am not a medical practitioner/medical Doctor.
